A glass of wine at Beach House Winery is part romantic getaway, part glass of wine in a friend’s home. You instantly feel welcomed the minute you walk inside George and Kim’s tasting room, which is adjacent their home at the top of a mountain. Beach House specializes in French and Italian varietals, predominantly reds. As of our visit, Winemaker George is moving towards even more San Diego County-inspired wines.
Their property at the top of a long incline drive yields spectacular views of the area. To the surprise of many, there’s lots of farmland in this part of Northern San Diego County, so you’ll feel miles away from the city and super relaxed, especially with a glass of wine in hand and your sweetheart at your side. The wine is good, but the hospitality and experience are what makes this place so special.
Parking can be a bit tricky up at the house if there are a number of other cars. Unless he’s otherwise occupied, owner George will come out and valet for you.
Open on weekends from 12-4pm; call Kim to ask about arranging a private tasting date
Beach House Winery has limited snacks so please plan accordingly.
