SD from Coronado

Rent bicycles and cruise around the island. One of our favorite routes takes you past beautiful homes and the Coronado golf course on Glorietta Boulevard.  You’ll connect with the Bayshore Bikeway, which crosses underneath the Coronado Bridge. Keep going and you’ll ride through Tidelands Park and along the San Diego Harbor (and can loop back to the bike rental shop).

This is a great first date idea because you’ll have plenty to see and talk about, not to mention lots of options to stop and grab a bite to eat or a drink if you’re in the mood.

Parking

We suggest looking for a spot on C Avenue in between 9th and 10th.  Otherwise try the residential avenues south of Holland’s Bicycles (the letter streets A, B, C, or 9th or 10th Avenues).

Directions

Prepare ahead of time and map out a route you would like to take. Tap/Click “View Larger Map” on the map below. Hollands will also provide you with a map to the island.

Note that you’ll want to avoid biking on Orange Avenue itself since the traffic is pretty heavy.

Our Recommended Path: From the bike shop, you can head along 10th avenue until you get to Glorietta, then follow it along the beautiful golf course.

When you reach the road that descends from the bridge, turn right and take the Bayshore Bikeway (Silver Strand Bikeway) under the bridge and then follow it along all the way to Centennial Park. Find your way to C Avenue and take that back to Holland’s Bike Shop past Spreckels Park.

You can head on to the beach and the Hotel Del Coronado afterwards for the sunset or a drink.
