If you haven’t explored San Diego from the water yet, you’re missing out! Mission Bay is the nearest playground with plenty of places to paddle to, but with Just Kayak’s equipment, you’ll also be able to strap your kayaks to your cars and go wherever you choose. Most cars can hold up to two kayaks with their pads and straps.
You pay reasonable full day rates and have as much time as you want to play around out on the water since there are no hourly rates. You pick up your kayaks from Ski Beach on Mission Bay, or request a different location for delivery. Be prepared to leave an ID or credit card as collateral. Only during a massive event in this part of the park has there ever been a problem parking. It’s reliable to find ample parking spots (that are free). Once you park, look for the truck with kayaks piled on top.
Please check with Just Kayak for specifics on the day you rent, but they generally operate 8:30am to sunset.

- Change of clothes to keep in the car (there are bathrooms where you can change at Ski Beach)
- Your date’s favorite snack for after you’re done

If you’ve worked up an appetite, burgers & fries at Rocky’s Crown Point Pub is just down the road.
Taste of the Himalayas in the Sports Arena area if you’re craving some ethnic cuisine (Nepalese).
